Playground Equipment Colors: How To Select Playground Colors

Playcraft play system with bright and colorful standard colors.

Selecting playground equipment colors is an important part of the design process when it comes to planning for well-designed playgrounds.

The proper selection of colors in a playground goes a long way in inspiring children’s imaginations. Bright and colorful playground equipment colors tend to encourage children to play more energetically and create more opportunities for cooperation and socialization. Playcraft offers a wide range of rich and glossy powder coated colors that are vibrant. These colors are extremely durable and offer longevity with minimum fading and chipping.  Generally speaking, during the color selection phase of a project, colors have to be selected for all playground components. Metal parts such as posts, clamps, climbers, overhead ladders and miscellaneous metal accessories are available in 12 standard powder coated colors. Playcraft’s coating process includes an extensive multi-stage powder-coating process that ensures resilient and enduring protective finishes. Available in white, gray, brown, tan, green, blue, black, yellow, orange, red, burgundy, and purple, powder coated components are also available in custom colors for a slight upcharge.

Components such as activity panels, Panel Pals™ and wall barriers, etc., are manufactured with HDPE impact and vandal resistant sheet plastics that are available in 14 layered color schemes, and numerous solid colors. Playcraft components such as decks, steps, bridges, bench and table tops, etc., are all manufactured using Krauss Craft’s in-house Play-Tuff™ coating process which provides excellent slip-resistance and superior resiliency, and are all available in red, green, blue, brown, and tan.

Roto-molded parts are also available to 10 different colors. Roto-molded plastic components, including slides, roofs, climbers and lily pads, etc., are molded with hot-blended color compounded resins to create rich, vibrant colors that are fade resistant  even after many years of use. In addition to our standard colors, roto-molded plastic components are also available in custom colors. Shade canopies are available in tan, yellow, green, blue and red. Playcraft offers a wide palette of color choices for its entire line of products, from a range of bright and cheerful colors to a selection of warm, neutral earth tone colors…one more reason that makes Playcraft’s play structures the finest in the industry.

While there are many different options to consider when selecting a color scheme for any playground project, with Pacific Play Systems’ extensive design capabilities, customers may explore various color options before making their final decisions. Playcraft also offers a wide selection of standard color schemes, some of the most popular of these include forest, sea, earth, sporty, and festive schemes.
